Discerning Investment and Wealth Management for Accomplished Professionals Building Meaningful Wealth

Independent. Fiduciary. Personally Invested. We manage your money directly, build adaptive strategies, and partner with you through every season of your financial life.

The Three Pillars

One firm. Three disciplines.

Everything at HFI runs through three disciplines: the investments, the planning around them, and the service that carries both. Each is built in-house, and each answers to the same standard.

Investments

Fiduciary responsibility, kept in-house and intact. We manage your investments directly because that responsibility is not something we believe should be delegated.

Multi-strategy, not multi-model. Each strategy has a job, and the architecture grows with your complexity.

Planning

A standard is a line you hold. Planning at HFI is organized around three progressive standards, Security, Freedom, and Independence, held across the full territory of your financial life.

The work begins with a standards assessment, and you choose how much to tackle each year. Proactive by design, responsive when life moves first.

Service

Relationships begin in person. The best ones tend to start across a table, not a screen, with an unhurried conversation and a good meal.

Business then runs wherever you prefer. Connection gets a table. Execution gets a screen. The choice of medium is always yours.

The Foundation

Meaningful Wealth

Meaningful wealth is not a number. It is what the money is for. The research on happiness keeps arriving where faith has pointed all along: satisfaction comes from purpose, people, and work that serves, not from the scoreboard. A portfolio is the means. Unhurried time with the people you love, generosity you can feel, work you choose. That is the return.

"The real return on a good financial plan is not more money. It is more time. More time for the people and things that matter."

Who This Is For

Three roads. One standard.

Building Wealth

You are in the years where the decisions compound hardest. Income is strong, savings are real, and every year of drift costs more than the last. You need an actual investment process, a plan that keeps up with a career that will not sit still, and an advisor who answers the question you asked. The full road →

Approaching & In Retirement

You spent decades building this. Now the question changes: not "how do I grow it" but "how does it carry us, in every market, for the rest of our lives." We build income from what you built, manage the risks that actually threaten a retirement, and tell you the truth about the trade-offs. The full road →

Financial Independence

Maybe you sold a business. Maybe you saved with unusual discipline toward an early exit. The conventional playbook does not fit a fifty-year horizon or a family whose plans do not follow the brochure. We build for the actual shape of your life. The full road →

This is not the right fit for everyone, and we say so plainly. Read who we serve, and who we do not.

The Founder's Journey

Combat veteran. Cancer researcher. Fiduciary CIO.

Drew Howard, Founder and Chief Investment Officer

Drew Howard has spent a career reading complex systems under pressure. Counter-terrorism intelligence and human-factor analysis in the Air Force, including the financial dimensions of conflict. Doctoral training in translational molecular biology, where an idea had to survive patents, peer review, and preclinical evidence before anyone could call it a discovery. Nearly a decade of fiduciary advisory practice. Different arenas, one discipline: process over prediction, evidence over narrative, and no patience for conventional silos.

HFI exists because the firm he wanted did not: investment management held personally by the person responsible for it, planning built around a household's actual life, and no middleman selling someone else's models with a practiced smile. Nobody taught us this, and the industry's incentives too often run against the people inside it. This firm is the correction.

"We do not predict the wind, and we do not argue with it. We trim our own sails to what is actually blowing. And when open water offers nothing, we know the way back to harbor."
